About Jody Selin

Growing up in Greensboro, North Carolina, Jody’s appreciation for nature began under the beauty of her family’s lush cherry, pear, oak and dogwood trees. Memories of a childhood spent in her parents’ garden and present-day inspiration from Western New York’s agriculture and the City of Buffalo, where she now resides, result in a marriage of past and present.
“I approach my work through several individualized series, or small bodies of work. In each series, surface, line and form are combined in a language that defines each work individually, while collectively representing the whole. I particularly enjoy the challenge of treating 3D materials with a 2D sensibility and vice-versa.
Common and recurring themes reflect a love for the natural sciences; botany, biology, geology, chemistry and macro-micro environments.“
